About
Volunteer work days are a critical element in keeping Campbellton Community Garden (CCG) operational. CCG is located in southwest Atlanta, a food insecure area. Your role: Volunteers typically do weeding, mulching, bed preparation, planting and other tasks and projects. Come help turn an empty lot into a food-producing asset and green space for the community. Volunteers typically do weeding, mulching and other tasks / projects. Organized by Campbellton Community Garden. Tips: Please bring water, a face mask and wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Bring a hat and insect repellent during warm months. For colder months, dress warmly, wear layers, and have access to a head covering, e.g., a beanie cap, hoodie or both if temperatures are in the low 40s or below.
Work gloves are needed, you can bring your own but we also have gloves on-site that can be borrowed.
Regarding the face masks, we don't require wearing face masks per se, we ask that volunteers and other visitors comply with CDC guidelines, but also be prepared to wear a mask if requested due to the possibility of there being someone at the garden who belongs to a highly vulnerable group and our wanting to protect those individuals.
IF DOABLE, GROUP COORDINATORS MAY WANT TO PROVIDE GLOVES, WATER, SNACKS AND INSECT REPELLENT FOR THE GROUP.
